Luncheons are held at 12:30 pm on the first Thursday of

March, June, September and December each year,

Lunches are provided at a cost of $30 for a two course main meal plus tea/coffee, except for the December Lunch when a Christmas Pudding course is added, for $35.  Meal costs may be reviewed from time to time. 

Drinks are available at Club Bar prices.

12 December Lunch!

Guest Speaker: GARY KENDRICK – General Manager of keeping busy in retirement.

Gary started his work life at GM Holden in 1980 as a first-year Fitting and Machining Apprentice. His career at Holden lasted 39.8 years and covered a range of responsibilities and experiences.

  • 6 years shop floor as a Fitter and Turner
  • Moved into purchasing, having many purchasing roles, working closely with the Engineering and Design teams
  • Parts Readiness manager for new model launches
  • Supplier Quality Manager for Holden
  • 2012 went to St Petersburg Russia for 3 months to run Supplier Quality GM Russia
  • Holden Program Purchasing Manager for new models
  • 2015 – 2019 ISP assignment to India as Supplier Quality Director, looking after 400 suppliers in India and 3 manufacturing plants

In late 2019 returned to Australia, retired and has been flat out ever since.

Gary has always had a keen interest in car rallying, as a driver and car builder and still competes. He has 3 rally cars, Datsun 1600 and 2 Commodore V8’s. All the family is involved with his son competing at high level in his VN V8 rally car, daughter experienced navigator and wife as service crew.

Outback travel is another of Gary and Barb’s passion, with many trips including Cape York, Kimberley, Simpson Desert, Canning stock route.

Gary also makes his own wine, with some of his mates. He says it helps with the Cost-of-Living Crisis!

Gary will talk to us about some of his life adventures and outback travels.

There will be 3 delicious courses for $35. Menu will be as follows: 

Entrée:
Flash fried Calamari strips (Gf) Grapefruit, orange & rocket salad, & mild chilli dressing

Main (Alternating):Roast Pork with Apple Sauce and Gravy, seasonal vegetables and potato of the day. OR
Roast Lamb with Mint Sauce and Gravy, seasonal vegetables and potato of the day

Dessert
Plum Pudding with Brandy Custard and Cream

Tea or Coffee.

Members are reminded that unless you are also a member of the MCC, you must sign in when entering the Club. You may do this at the front desk. The Lunch fees will be collected just inside the door of The Mulgrave Room.

DOORS OPEN AT 11:30 AM; MEETING STARTS AT 12:30 PM. 

If you arrive earlier, you may care to have some refreshment in one of the Club's other rooms while you wait.
